If you are a social media fan or a technology geek like me, chances are you also enjoy the learning process. For me, the daily learning progress has been made possible by following the advice of a list of social media experts which I am about to share with you. Here is a simple list of the top 20 Twitter users I recommend if you want to get the most informative tweets.
1. Michael Arrington (@TechCrunch) – Founder of TechCrunch, providing breaking technology news and opinions. I check the TechCrunch blog daily for tech-related news and information.
2. Darren Rowse (@ProBlogger) – Founder of Problogger.net. ProBlogger.net is a critical resource for bloggers who just start out blogging. It helped me tremendously at the beginning stage of my blogging career. Even now, I still check this site daily. Even better, Darren has tons of blogging tips to share with you on Twitter.
3. Tim Ferriss (@TFerriss) – Author of #1 NY Times bestseller, “The 4-Hour Workweek“. His book inspired me to be an entrepreneur. Tim’s Twitter stream will keep you up-to-date with the interesting stuff he is doing.
4. Kevin Rose (@Kevinrose) – Founder of Digg and co-founder of Revision3. I watch his Diggnation podcast every week. It’s a great way to entertain yourself while getting updated on trendy topics.
5. Alex Albrecht (@alexalbrecht) – Co-host of the Diggnation show. Not only is Alex knowledgeable about technology, he is also super-hilarious!
6. Richard MacManus (@RWW) – Founder of ReadWriteWeb, a social media and Web technology blog
7. Pete Cashmore (@mashable) – Founder of Mashable, a leading tech blog focused on Web 2.0 and Social Networking news. I follow this site fairly often for social media related news.
8. Leo Laporte (@leolaporte) – Host and producer of the nationally-syndicated Tech Guy radio show on the Premiere Radio Networks, and founder of the TWiT® Netcast Network. I listen to his Twig (This Week In Google) podcast show every week, very informative show.
9. Jeff Jarvis (@jeffjarvis) - Author of “What Would Google Do“, blogger and j-school prof. He is a co-host of Twig (This Week In Google) podcast show.
10. Even Williams (@eV) – CEO of Twitter
11. Chris Anderson (@chr1sa) – Editor-in-chief of Wired Magazine and author of “The Long Tail” and “Free.” In fact, I just finished his newest book “Free: The Future of a Radical Price” (Hint: You can download the audio version of this book on Audible.com for free).

Why are there no women on this list? Just a few tech-heavy informative female tweeters: @digitalsista @adriarichards @veronica @jennifered

Didn't mean to discriminate anyone out. I think your list is good, and anyone else is welcome to add on to this list. If you have to ask, I think Gina Trapani is fabulous (@ginatrapani)… I followed her on Twig show. Maybe next time will pay more attention to the gender ratio…

Using your definition of “informative tweets” on Twitter, I doubt anyone beats @Twitter_Tips. Retweeted about 2500 times a week http://www.twitalyzer.com/twitalyzer/list.asp?l… (And: #10 should be “Evan” not “Even.”)
Women often get lumped into “Top 10 Women Who <fill in blank>” Perhaps the title “Top 20 Most Informative Male Twitter Users” would be more appropriate for this post.

This is just a a 'how to' list of Tech, Media, Business and PR men… It completely misses why most of the little people are actually using twitter and what it means to them. Yes boys you deserve some more attention for coming up with the initial concepts but you are completely missing why and who makes it tick… Yawn!
